Non-Clinical

Systems Developer

  • Based out of Itasca, IL, office
  • Full-time (Exempt)

This position is responsible for developing, testing, implementing, maintaining and documenting new software applications to support Gift of Hope’s operations. In addition to supporting Gift of Hope’s mission and vision and adhering to its values, the Systems Developer is responsible for carrying out the following responsibilities:

  • Integrating purchased software packages with new and existing applications and databases
  • Evaluating designs and implementing major modifications to existing internally or externally developed applications to accommodate changes in customer requirements or hardware/software infrastructure
  • Refining application components for performance enhancement
  • Designing and programing reports
  • Monitoring and maintaining application databases backups
  • Monitoring and maintaining source code versioning for accuracy
  • Deriving and documenting system requirements and translating them into workable user-friendly applications
  • Supporting in-house application databases by monitoring and maintaining proper backups
  • Serving as an Information Systems resource person and sharing 24/7 call with other IS resource staff
  • Responding to user questions and problems

Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and programming experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, and Microsoft Biztalk. The ideal candidate also will have:

  • Two years of experience in working with Microsoft SQL server
  • Experience in working with XML
  • Knowledge of structured software design principles
  • Ability to follow development and database-related policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow defined coding standards and patterns in application design and development
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Ability to work a rotating 24-hour call schedule for approximately seven days in a six-week period, carry a mobile device and cell phone, and be accessible outside regular working hours
