Bone Donation on the Rise
No bones about it—teamwork among Gift of Hope and our hospital partners is boosting bone donation rates. Our tissue recovery teams have performed recoveries on significantly more bone donors this year than last. Teamsalso are experiencing more positive outcomes when approaching families about donation. And refusals by family members when requesting consent for donation have been nearly halved. The table below illustrates the successes we’re having on the tissue donation front in 2011 thanks to the cooperation and collaboration of our professional partners in donation.
