Gift of Hope’s donation service area — the northern three-quarters of Illinois and one county in northwest Indiana — is home to 12 million people and is one of the busiest areas in the country when it comes to organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Within these geographic boundaries, we collaborate with more than 180 hospitals — including nine transplant centers that offer 34 organ transplant programs — to coordinate donation and provide lifesaving and life-enhancing transplants for those in need.
In managing the recovery, care and transportation of donated organs, we work closely with the following transplant centers to provide lifesaving organs for transplant patients. These centers of excellence provide more than 30 transplant programs.
